Abstract

A dosing reservoir (1) for receiving and distributing a liquid for treating laundry in a washing machine or the like has a closure that can be opened during the treatment of the laundry. An outlet (6) of the dosing reservoir (1) can be closed by a closing body (3) that floats on the liquid. To obtain a design that is advantageous to use and of simple construction, the closing body (3) is enclosed in a dome-like element (2) formed inside the dosing reservoir (1), that tapers down to approximately the diameter of the closing body (3) in the direction of the outlet (6).
