A capacity control arrangement for a centrifugal refrigerant gas compressor having a rotary impeller with centrally located intake ducts and peripherally located discharge ducts, comprising a throttle intake duct, a nozzle intake duct extending from said throttle intake duct up to the inlet ducts located centrally of said impeller, a throttle disc pivotably mounted in said throttle intake duct means for selectively moving the said throttle disc from a transverse position to the gas flow for a minimum capacity, to a position parallel to the gas flow for the maximum capacity and to any position between them, and a plurality of gas flow directing blades extending into said nozzle intake duct, so as to direct the flow of gas inside the cited i mpulsor after passage through the cited choke disc.
