Abstract

The invention refers to a method for bending sheets of glass, for example an automobile windscreen, using a bending system with various components articulated amongst themselves, in which the sheet heated to the bending temperature is taken into the system and by rotation of at least one of the articulated components is bent into the desired shape. According to this invention, the articulated component progressively moves lengthways along the sheet of glass, with the axis of articulation positioned along a defined curve so that the sheet of glass is progressively pressed against the surface of the bending system or mould with no relative sliding movement.
