Abstract

1. A sheet metal washing drum as a part of a washing machine (1), with aligned axes or shafts, supported by bearings within a tub (2), each of the metal sheet end walls (19, 20) of the drum (3) comprising an opening (10) concentrically formed around the axis of rotation of the drum (3), and a mechanically resistant tubular metal shaft (4 or 5) secured by way of crimping at one of its ends to said opening (10), characterized in that, bordered holes (11) being formed at regular distances around said opening (10), a base plate (12) made of synthetic material, which is resistant to the temperature and corrosion of the washing liquid, is formed by means of mould casting on the one hand, a to the drum (3), onto the inner and the outer face of the zone of said end wall which covers said opening (10), onto said bordered holes (11), and onto the output end of said tubular shaft (4 or 5), and on the other hand onto a section (13) of the surface of this shaft projecting away from the drum.
