Abstract

A remotely-adjustable rear-view mirror assembly for a motor-car includes a mechanism (3), 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, (9) for supporting a plate 2 which carries the reflective mirror itself for pivoting about two mutually-perpendicular axes parallel to the plane of the plate and a single operating cable (16) connected to the support mechanism at one end and provided at its opposite end (21) with a hand grip for location in the passenger compartment of the motor car. The cable (16) is operable to transmit push and pull forces and rotational forces to a rod (12) associated with the support mechanism to drive corresponding axial or rotational movements of the rod and hence to pivot the mirror-support plate (2) about one or other of the said axes respectively.
