Abstract

The front axle/wheel system for a trailer towed by a truck consists of a frame (10) which is able to pivot in relation to the trailer chassis (9) by means of a guide ring (11), and a coupling (7) which joins it to a hook (6) on the rear of the truck. - The coupling is in a basically horizontal position and hinged to the frame (10) at a point more or less on a level with the wheel axle (12). The centre of the trailer front wheel axle is located slightly behind the centre line of the guide ring at a distance of 0-15 cm. The coupling is in a basic V-shape, joined to the hook by the tip of the V and by its ends to coupling arms (15) at the sides of the frame (10).
