Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the abrasion characteristic and heat characteristic by forming a contact of nickel as a base material and a layer of gold, which is supported by the base material so that at least, a part is diffused in the base material. CONSTITUTION: An electrical contact is formed of the conductive material having mechanical strength at an object temperature. In the case where the base material is made of nickel, a layer of gold is welded onto the nickel, and processed so that at least a part of the gold is diffused in the nickel. In the case where the base material is made of the material except for nickel, the base material is firstly plated with nickel, and thereafter, a layer of gold is plated on the layer of nickel. The layer of gold is processed so that at least, a part is diffused in the nickel. Abrasion characteristic and heat characteristic are thereby improved.
