Abstract

Improved catheter. This catheter, of the type to be implanted in a vein or artery with the aid of a hypodermic needle 7, incorporates within its body 1 a stopper 4 which closes the mouth giving access to the tube or catheter proper 3, which can be perforated by the needle 7 and the perforation of which is closed when said needle is removed again from the catheter. The rubber stopper 4 is kept in the operating position with the aid of a holder 5 which is accommodated therein, and a bearing member 6 which retains the two aforesaid ones axially and which can be attached to the body 1 by any suitable means, such as for example by means of the screw thread 8 which runs in the complementary groove 9.
