Abstract

Top structure (4) made of a block like unit of foamed or cellular plastic for closing the top of an insulated box like transport container (1) and for cooling goods therein, which top structure (4) is supported by said box like container (1) and has cavities (7) for receiving an un-pressurized liquid cooling medium that evaporates to a gaseous state, and emerges into the container (1) to keep the contents thereof at a predetermined temperature. The new feature is that the cavities (7) for the liquid cooling medium are formed directly in the foamed or cellular plastic and communicate via a liquid trap (8) with output channels (19) opening out at the underside of the block like unit (6) and that filling openings are arranged to allow gravity filling of the cavities.
