Abstract
The fixed or floating mooring unit, especially for mooring boats in a sheltered harbour (1), has a convex curved surface and is preferably in the shape of a circular fixed or floating island (3) with mooring positions for boats (4) round its periphery. The island can be reached from the shore by a gangway (5) or an underground tunnel giving access to a central well on the island. In a variant, the island can be surrounded by an additional mooring unit, made in a C-shape with an opening to allow boats in or out, and providing additional mooring places round the outside. ADVANTAGE - Provides additional moorings for boats in limited space.
