Abstract
In the said method and arrangement, the boundary of the unstable slip area is to be determined and the wheel set or the group of wheel sets is to be then returned into the stable slip area by reducing the drive or braking force again beyond the minimum frictional engagement. In order to achieve in all operating states a variation in the wheel slip which oscillates as closely as possible about the maximum frictional engagement, it is proposed that the time of termination of the reduction of the drive force or braking force should be detected with reference to the traction force or braking force which is dropping again and is transmitted to the rails, the force which is actually effective on the rail being determined from the drive force or braking force or the torque of the drive motor and the measured wheel set acceleration (or deceleration) according to the relation FZ = FEngine-mwheelset.awheelset FB = FEngine+mwheelset.awheelset and in that the first derivation over time of the drive force or braking force is used for the signal resolution for stopping reduction.
