Abstract

A container (12) has a lid (14) with a multi-level upper lid surface. The lid includes a horizontal portion (28) defining a horizontal base support surface and an upwardly inclined portion 30 which can be depressed to tilt the lid for removal of the lid from the container. The container has a plurality of support feet 22 projecting from its bottom. In order to allow a plurality of identical containers to be stacked one on the other, the inclined portion 30 of the lid has a recessed seat or seats 34 to receive a foot 22 or respective feet 22 of an identical container stacked thereon, the depth of the or each recessed seat 34 being such as to provide a support surface, for such a foot 22, which is in the same horizontal plane as the horizontal base support surface of the portion 30 so that all of the feet 22 of said identical containers stacked on the lid can be supported at the same horizontal level.
