Abstract

The vertical flange of the side plate 9 integral with the back element is connected to the vertical flange of the side plate 13 carrying the seating element by two pivoting small rods 11, 12, the two side plates being partially superposed in the seat position. A notched ratchet mechanism 15 is articulated on the side plate 13 and is stressed by a spring 19 in order to engage, in the seat position, via one or the other of its notches 16, 17, the end 18 of the side plate 9. In order to convert into the bed position, the ratchet mechanism 15 comes into a release position in which it is held by engagement of an end 20 of the spring 19 in a slot 21 of the ratchet mechanism 15.
