EL PROCEDIMIENTO SE CARACTERIZA POR EL HECHO DE QUE SE PROYECTA UN GAS OXIDANTE CONTRA ESTA SUPERFICIE CONJUNTAMENTE CON UNA MEZCLA EN POLVO QUE COMPRENDE: PARTICULAS REFRACTARIAS; PARTICULAS DE COMBUSTIBLE QUE REACCIONAN EXOTERMICAMENTE CON EL GAS OXIDANTE PARA FORMAR UN OXIDO REFRACTARIO Y DESPRENDER SUFICIENTE CALOR PARA FUNDIR POR LO MENOS LAS SUPERFICIES DE LAS PARTICULAS REFRACTARIAS, DE MANERA QUE SE UNAN ENTRE SI PARA FORMAR LA MASA REFRACTARIA; Y PARTICULAS DE MATERIAL CUYA COMPOSICION Y/O TAMAÑO SE SELECCIONA DE MANERA QUE LA INCORPORACION DE ESTE MATERIAL EN LA MEZCLA PROYECTADA DA LUGAR A LA FORMACION DE POROS EN EL INTERIOR DE LA MASA REFRACTARIA FORMADA.
