Abstract
Procedure for preparing quinazolinone derivatives.Involves, to obtain a formula (I) compound: (a) producing a reaction (III) with a lower alkylamine or ammonia, (b) if necessary, subjecting the product obtained in (a) to intramolecular cyclation, (c) optionally, forming a salt of the products resulting from (a) and (b).In the formulas R<1> is a lower alkyl or hydrogen, R<2>, R<3>, R<4> and R<5> (equal or different from each other) are hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, or two adjacent groups between R<2>, R<3>, R<4> and R<5> being joined to form a lower alkylendioxy group and the two other groups representing hydrogen atoms.This procedure for obtaining (III) can be applied on an industrial scale with many advantages as no intermediate product losses are produced in the isolation and purification stages, with overall yield exceeding 70%.
