Abstract

A railway sleeper 10 includes a block of concrete which has a retention profiling 11 embedded in the body of the concrete, the retention profiling 11 having lateral walls which are inclined upwards and outwards 12 which end at their upper edges in borders 13 and constitute a channel 14 in the form of a "T"-shaped groove which is oriented upwards. Provision has been made for at least one projection 15 which has a securing protuberance 16 which bears against the upper surfaces 17 of the borders 13 and which is arranged in order to support a rail-fastening clamp 18, the protuberance 16 having a head in the shape of a "T" 29 at the lower end of a rod 19 which projects in the channel in the form of a "T" groove 14.
