Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain carbon black suitable for fillers, colorants, etc., by such processes that a high-temperature combustion mixture flow is formed and divided into plural subflows which are then put to mutual collision in the first or second reaction zone each of special shape followed by introducing raw material hydrocarbons into the second reaction zone. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, an oxygen-contg. gas is mixed with a fuel through a high-temperature combustion mixture generating mechanism to form a high- temperature combustion mixture flow. The flow is then divided into plural subflows of approximately axial flow direction formed by the mechanism, and these subflows are then put to mutual collision in the first reaction zone 3 of such shape as to be narrowly converged in the oven axial direction or the second reaction zone with a throttle part. Thence, raw material hydrocarbons are introduced from such a direction as to cross the high-temperature combustion mixture flow into the second reaction zone, thus obtaining the objective carbon black.
