Abstract
The process of the invention aims to produce cards having three layers, an intermediate layer or core 1 of photographic-type paper with security printing, and two polyester/polythene covers 2. According to the process, the security printing takes place either directly on both faces 11 and 12 of the core or, alternatively, on thin layers 8 and 9 deposited by extrusion of polythene, transverse and longitudinal cuts 4 and 5 being made beforehand. After continuous development, the unimportant photo- emulsion areas are removed from the front face, revealing large areas of the polythene film, integral heat-welding of all the layers being achieved. In the case of visas, the process is identical, except for the fact that the visa consists only of two layers, since the label/visa adheres to the corresponding page of the passport.
