EL PROCEDIMIENTO CONSISTE EN, TRAS FRAGMENTAR LA BANDA CONTINUA DE POLIPROPILENO O DEL MATERIAL PLASTICO SELECCIONADO COMO MEDIO DE ENVOLTURA, EN TROZOS DIMENSIONALMENTE ADECUADOS AL TAMAÑO DE LOS PRODUCTOS HORTICOLAS A ENVOLVER, COMO POR EJEMPLO LECHUGAS TIPO ICEBERT, ADAPTAR CADA TROZO A CADA LECHUGA PARTIENDO DE LA ENTRADA EN CONTACTO DE DICHA LECHUGA CON EL PUNTO MEDIO DE LA LAMINA PLASTICA Y POR SU ZONA OPUESTA AL TALLO, A PARTIR DE CUYO MOMENTO DE CONTACTO LA LAMINA PLASTICA SE ADAPTA PROGRESIVAMENTE A TODA LA SUPERFICIE DE LA LECHUGA O PRODUCTO DE QUE SE TRATE, HASTA CERRARSE O REPLEGARSE SOBRE SI MISMA EN CORRESPONDENCIA CON EL CITADO TALLO, DONDE MOMENTANEAMENTE EL REPLIEGUE DE LA LAMINA PLASTICA SE MANTIENE CERRADO CON LA COLABORACION DE UNA MORDAZA APROPIADA, COMO POR EJEMPLO UNA MORDAZA TIPO DIAFRAGMA, EFECTUANDOSE INMEDIATAMENTE A CONTINUACION EL CORTE DEL MATERIAL SOBRANTE CON UNA CUCHILLA O TIJERA CONVENIENTEMENTE TERMOCALEFACTADA, DE MANERA QUE PARALELAMENTE AL EFECTO DE CORTE PARA ELIMINACION DEL SOBRANTE SE CONSIGUE LA TERMOSOLDADURA DE LOS DIVERSOS REPLIEGUES DE LA LAMINA PLASTICA A TRAVES DE LOS PROPIOS BORDES DEFINIDOS POR EL PLANO DE CORTE.
