SE EMPLEA UN AGENTE CITOTOXICO QUE SE INSTILA EN LA CAMARA INTERIR DEL OJO PARA IMPEDIR LA PROLIFERACION DE CELULAS EPITELIALES REMANENTES DESPUES DE LA EXTRACCION DE LA CATARATA EXTRACAPSULAR. DESEABLEMENTE SE INSTILA UN AGENTE NO CITOTOXICO DE REACCION CRUZADA CON EL AGENTE CITOTOXICO ANTES DE LA INSTILACION DEL AGENTE CITOTOXICO. LOS AGENTES SE PUEDEN PROPORCIONAR COMO EQUIPOS.
