Abstract
Method for the concentration of silvite of potassium minerals containing silvite associated with small with small but inconvenient amounts of clay and similar elements that form alumina characterized by understanding the operations of converting the mineral into a state of a suitable fineness mass to treat the wet by the method of separation stratification of the pulp with a saturated aqueous solution of the soluble components of the mineral to distribute in said pulp a control agent of the clay selected from the group consisting of the polyglycols and their ethers in sufficient proportion to eliminate the tendency of the clay components present to be reacted with a suitable collecting agent to collect the silvite and then distribute this collecting agent in said pulp and then subject the mixture to a separating treatment to save silvite.
