EL PROCEDIMIENTO CONSISTE EN CULTIVAR EMBRIONES DE PLANTAS IN VITRO, ESTIMULAR A LOS EMBRIONES A SEGUIR A TRAVES DEL ESTADO GLOBULAR Y EN FORMA DE CORAZON A UN ESTADO EN FORMA DE TORPEDO ALARGADO Y ESTADO DE COTILEDON TEMPRANO, INDUCIR A LOS EMBRIONES TAN PRONTO COMO SE ADQUIERE EL ESTADO EN FORMA DE TORPEDO CON UNA FUENTE DE ACIDO ABSCISICO A UNA CONCENTRACION EFECTIVA DE ACIDO ABSCISICO, Y DURANTE UN PERIODO SUFICIENTE, PARA PRODUCIR EXPRESION DE TOLERANCIA A LA DESECACION, LO QUE INCLUYE CAMBIO EN EL METABOLISMO CELULAR, PROCESO DE TRANSPORTE ELECTRONICO Y REACCIONES DE OXIDACION-REDUCCION EN LOS EMBRIONES, Y SECAR LOS EMBRIONES INDUCIDOS PARA OBTENER EMBRIONES VIABLES ESTABLES.
