OXYTOCA CLON-15, ES CAPAZ DE UTILIZAR NITRATOS Y/O NITRITOS COMO FUENTE DE NITROGENO, POR LO QUE PUEDE SER UTILIZADA PARA LA ELIMINACION BIOLOGICA DE NITRATOS Y/O NITRITOS CONTENIDOS EN EFLUENTES INDUSTRIALES, AGUAS Y SUELOS CONTAMINADOS POR DICHOS COMPUESTOS, MEDIANTE UN PROCEDIMIENTO QUE COMPRENDE LA INOCULACION DE DICHOS EFLUENTES, AGUAS Y SUELOS CONTAMINADOS CON UN CULTIVO DE DICHA CEPA.
