EL AIRE ALIMENTADO AL COMPRESOR PRINCIPAL SE ENFRIA USANDO UN SISTEMA DE REFRIGERACION MECANICO PARA DISMINUIR LA TEMPERATURA DEL AIRE ALIMENTADO EN LA ENTRADA AL COMPRESOR PRINCIPAL DE UNA TURBINA DE GAS. EL AIRE COMPRIMIDO POR EL COMPRESOR PRINCIPAL SE SUMINISTRA A UN COMBUSTOR PARA CALENTAR EL AIRE COMPRIMIDO Y PRODUCIR GASES CALIENTES QUE SON ALIMENTADOS A UNA TURBINA QUE SUMINISTRA UNA CARGA Y ACCIONA AL COMPRESOR PRINCIPAL.
