SE DESCRIBE UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PROTECCION DE CATALIZADORES PARA LA DEPURACION DE GASES DE ESCAPE, POR MEDIO DE LA MEDICION DE TEMPERATURA CON UN SENSOR DE TONALIDAD TERMICA ESPECIAL ADECUADO PARA LA REALIZACION DEL PROCEDIMIENTO, EN EL QUE SE INTRODUCE DETRAS DEL CATALIZADOR EN EL FLUJO DE LOS GASES DE ESCAPE O EN PARTE DE LOS MISMOS, UN SENSOR DE TONALIDAD TERMICA CON AL MENOS DOS RESISTENCIAS NTC O PTC, ASI COMO CON UN RECUBRIMIENTO DEL SENSOR EN LA ZONA DE AL MENOS UNA DE LAS RESISTENCIAS CON UN MATERIAL ACTIVO CATALITICO, EN EL QUE SE PROVOCAN LAS MISMAS REACCIONES EXOTERMICAS QUE LAS QUE SE ORIGINAN EN EL CATALIZADOR UTILIZADO PARA LA DEPURACION DE LOS GASES DE ESCAPE, Y CON ESTE, POR MEDIO DE LA MODIFICACION DE LA RESISTENCIA OCASIONADA EN CASO DE SOBRECALENTAMIENTO DE LA MISMA COMO CONSECUENCIA DE LA EXCESIVA REACCION EXOTERMICA, SE REGISTRA LA PRECIPITACION DEL INDICE DE CONVERSION DEL CATALIZADOR.
