SE TRATA DE UN PROCEDIMIENTO DE SOLDADURA POR ARCO VOLTAICO CON ATMOSFERA DE GAS INERTE CON UN ELECTRODO FUSIBLE PARA ACEROS DE ALEACION ALTA, RESISTENTES A LA CORROSION, ESPECIALMENTE MATERIALES DE NIQUEL Y ACEROS ESPECIALES, EN DONDE EL PROCESO DE SOLDADURA TIENE LUGAR BAJO ATMOSFERA DE GAS INERTE. EN TALES PROCEDIMIENTOS DE SOLDADURA APARECEN, COMO CONSECUENCIA DE LOS CONTENIDOS DE OXIGENO NORMALMENTE EXISTENTES O LOS CONTENIDOS DE COMPUESTOS QUE LLEVAN OXIGENO EN LOS GASES INERTES, OXIDACIONES NO DESEADAS SOBRE LOS PUNTOS DE SOLDADURA. ESTAS PROPORCIONES OXIDANTES CONTRIBUYEN, POR OTRO LADO, A UN BUEN PROCESO DE SOLDADURA. DE ACUERDO CON LA INVENCION SE PROPONE AHORA UN PROCESO DE SOLDADURA EN EL QUE SE EMPLEA UN GAS INERTE CON UNA PROPORCION DE DIOXIDO DE CARBONO O UN PROPORCION DE OXIGENO O UNA PROPORCION DE UNA MEZCLA DE ESTOS GASES DE 0,01 HASTA 0,5 % EN VOLUMEN, PREFERENTEMENTE 0,02 HASTA 0,1 % EN VOLUMEN. DE ESTE MODO SE ALCANZA UN RESULTADO DE SOLDADURA VENTAJOSO CON UNA SOLDADURA EXTRAORDINARIAMENTE BUENA.
