LOS MICROORGANISMOS PRODUCTORES DE CELULOSAM SON CAPACES, DURANTE LA FERMENTACION EN UN MEDIO NUTRIENTE ACUOSO CONTENIENDO FUENTES ASIMILABLES DE CARBONO, NITROGENO Y SUBSTANCIAS INORGANICAS, DE INVERTIR LA DIRECCION DE EXTRUSION DE LAS FIBRAS DE CELULOSA. ESTA INVERSION DE LA DIRECCION DE LA EXTRUSION DE LAS FIBRAS DE CELULOSA SE EFECTUA SOBRE LA UNION DE MICROORGANISMOS PRODUCTORES DE CELULOSA, AL MENOS PERIODICAMENTE, PRIMERO EN UNA DIRECCION Y DESPUES EN OTRA DIRECCION A LO LARGO DE LA LONGITUD DE UNA TIRA DE CELULOSA DEPOSITADA EN PRINCIPIO PARA AÑADIR A ELLA OTRAS FIBRAS DE CELULOSA Y PRODUCIR UN TIRA LIADA DE CELULOSA TENIENDO UNA ANCHURA DE AL MENOS DOS FIBRAS DE CELULOSA ANTIPARALELAS.
