ESTOS ELEMENTOS ACTIVANTES DE TRANSCRIPCION CONTIENEN SECUENCIAS DE DNA PROCEDENTES DE LA REGION COLINDANTE NO TRANSCRITA HACIA ARRIBA DEL GENE OCTOPINO SINTASA (OCS) DEL T-DNA DE AGROBACTERIUM TUMEFACIENS. EL ELEMENTO ACTIVANTE DE TRANSCRIPCION OCS CONTIENE UN PRIMER COMPONENTE ESENCIAL QUE TIENE LA SECUENCIA IDENTIFICADORA 5''-ACGTAACGCTTACGT-3''. UN SEGUNDO COMPONENTE NO ESENCIAL QUE TIENE LA SECUENCIA IDENTIFICADORA 5''-GATGTTAACATC-3'' CONTRIBUYE AL NIVEL DE EXPRESION DEL GEN.
