Abstract

A rail for supplying current to mobile electrical appliances having current pick-offs which can move along the rail, consisting of a metallic hollow profile (1) with a sliding surface (2) and of a plastic, essentially U-shaped insulating profile (3) which holds the hollow profile (1). The hollow profile (1) is constructed from a formed metal strip (4) and, on both sides of the sliding surface (2), it has in each case one web arrangement (5) which runs parallel to the other and is gripped by the respectively allocated free end (6) of the insulating profile (3). Such a rail can be produced at a reduced material cost without having to accept technical/operational disadvantages, if the web arrangements (5) in each case consist of a row of tongues (7) which are formed by incisions (8) in the metal strip (4) and are pulled out therefrom. <IMAGE>
