Abstract

Rod-shaped sound transducers in ultrasonic cleaner baths are operated at an optimum frequency of approximately 25 kHz. Although this results in effective emission, there are dead sound zones between the antinodes. These dead sound zones, which conspicuously reduce the cleaning effect, are avoided according to the invention by operating the sound transducer permanently or at intervals, solely or simultaneously with the dominant frequency, at at least one further frequency. <IMAGE>
