Abstract
When producing a cold gas stream under pressure by means of heat exchange and mixing a gaseous with a cold liquid component, a relatively long period of time elapses until the droplets of liquid have evaporated completely. Corresponding production devices using indirect heat exchange are therefore technically complex and expensive. To simplify this, production takes place in a device enabling direct heat exchange. The device comprises an isolated pressure vessel (1) in which a long tubular mixing section (3) is situated into which the two components are introduced. The cold gas emerging from the mouth of the mixing section is discharged from the pressure vessel via a connection (7). <IMAGE>
