LA INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN PROCESO PARA LA PRODUCCION DE ACIDO POLIBUTILCARBOXILICO QUE TENGA UNA CADENA LARGA, EN EL CUAL UN POLIBUTILEPOXIDO SE PONE EN CONTACTO CON UN COMPUESTO OXIDANTE A UNA TEMPERATURA SUFICIENTE PARA OXIDAR EL EPOXIDO DANDO COMO RESULTADO EL CORRESPONDIENTE ACIDO POLIBUTILCARBOXILICO. EL POLIBUTILEPOXIDO TIENE UNA CADENA DE HIDROCARBONO RAMIFICADA Y PUEDE TENER ENTRE 16 Y 720 ATOMOS DE CARBONO. EL COMPUESTO SE OBTIENE DE PRIMERA MANO MEDIANTE LA EPOXIDACION DE UN POLIBUTENO. ENTRE EL 1 Y 90% D LOS ENLACES INSATURADOS DEL POLIBUTENO SON DE TIPO VINILIDENO POR EJEMPLO TIENEN UNA DOBLE UNION CON UN GRUPO TERMINAL =CH2. EL ACIDO CARBOXILICO FORMADO PUEDE CONVERTIRSE EN AMIDO DE CADENA LARGA QUE PUEDE USARSE COMO ADITIVO EN ACEITE LUBRICANTES O EN COMBUSTIBLES.
