Abstract

This device for fastening an object (5) such as a road-sign or street furniture to the ground (3) is of the type comprising: an embedded unit (2), whose upper part, essentially flush, forms a support plate (11) receiving the said object; and means for fastening the object to the plate, these means including destructible elements, which can be plastically deformed and/or broken under the effect of a stress at least equal to a minimum predetermined stress, so as to allow controlled detachment of the object from the plate in the event of external impact on the object. According to the invention: the said fastening means include at least one set of two interacting screwing members (6, 8a; 6, 8b; 9, 11), one threaded and the other tapped, one connected to the object and the other connected to the plate; one of these members (6; 9) is an interchangeable destructible member having plastic deformation and/or breaking strength characteristics less than those of the other member (8a; 8b; 11), which has an essentially indestructible member; and the indestructible member is integral with the embedded unit and the destructible member is integral with the object. <IMAGE>
