LA PRESENTE INVENCION SE REFIERE A ELASTOMEROS Y ARTICULOS REFORZADOS CON PARTICULAS DE 5 A 30 PHR QUITOSANA CON UN DIAMETRO DE ENTRE 0,5 Y 75 (MU)M. EN UNA VARIANTE PRESENTADA LA QUITOSANA PUEDE SER MODIFICADA CON UN GRUPO REACTIVO AL OXIGENO O UN GRUPO REACTIVO AL NITROGENO PARA OTORGAR A LA QUITOSANA UNA REACTIVIDAD ELEVADA CON EL ELASTOMERO. TAMBIEN SE PROPORCIONA UN METODO ECONOMICO PARA INCORPORAR PARTICULAS MUY FINAS DE QUITOSANA EN UNA MATRIZ DE ELASTOMEROS. SEGUN ESTE METODO SE DISUELVE LA QUITOSANA EN UN ACIDO Y SE MEZCLA CON UN LIQUIDO COAGULANTE (PARA COAGULAR EL LATEX). A CONTINUACION A LA MEZCLA DE ELASTOMERO Y LIQUIDO COAGULANTE SE LE AÑADE UNA SOLUCION DE LATEX PARA OBTENER UN COMPUESTO DE ELASTOMERO Y QUITOSANA. EL COMPUESTO DE ELASTOMERO Y QUITOSANA RESULTANTE SE PUEDE UTILIZAR TAL CUAL O COMO MEZCLA MADRE PARA AÑADIRLE MAS ELASTOMERO.
