LA PROTESIS DE VOZ SE COMPONE DE UNA PARTE (1) METALICA A MODO DE TUBO CON UN ABOCINAMIENTO (2) EN FORMA DE EMBUDO ABIERTO HACIA EL LADO DE LA TRAQUEA. EN EL INTERIOR DEL CAMINO DE CIRCULACION DEL AIRE DE LA TRAQUEA SE ASIENTA EN EL ESOFAGO AL MENOS UN ELEMENTO (3) RECORRIDO POR LA CORRIENTE DE AIRE, QUE PASA A SU TRAVES CON UNA OSCILACION, Y CON ELLO SE GENERA UN TONO AUDIBLE. CON ESTA PROTESIS DE VOZ SE PUEDE OBTENER EN UN PACIENTE CON LARINGETOMIA UNA VOZ SONORA ESENCIALMENTE MAS NATURAL QUE EN LOS CASOS HASTA AHORA CONOCIDOS.
