Abstract

The cistern uses two floats 3 and 4 associated with the vertical rod 1 of the device 2 for closing off the discharge orifice of the cistern. The support of the vertical shaft 1 is controlled by means of a selection mechanism via one of the two floats. The upper float 3 is permanently secured to the vertical rod 1. By default, the lower float 4 is not involved in supporting the rod 1 and the discharge level of the cistern is the partial discharge level 5 since, when the water drops to said level, the upper float 3 ceases to exert its thrust on the closing-off device. Total discharge is initiated by means of the actuation of the selection mechanism which fastens the actuation of the lower float 4 to the vertical rod 1. When the water drops below the level 5 of the upper float 3, the closing-off device continues to be supported under the control of the lower float 4. Discharge continues until the water level drops to the total-discharge level 6.
