Abstract

The process consists in starting with a piece of fabric which has a width which corresponds to that of the rag to be obtained and it undergoes successive transverse cutting operations which are intermittent in the direction of the weft and spaced out with respect to one another in accordance with the length of the rag, which cutting operations do not allow it to fray and enable the user easily to separate each rag individually from the rest of the piece, which rag has its longitudinal edges in the direction of the warp, and these cannot be frayed. If the piece of fabric has a width which is a multiple of the width envisaged for the rags, longitudinal cuts spaced out in the direction of the warp are made in it and then the aforesaid intermittent transverse cuts. The resulting rag consists of a rectangular portion of fabric which has four, non-fray edges.
