Abstract

The invention relates to a tray for receiving food and semi-luxury items which give off liquid. A two-layer tray with through-openings in the upper layer (12) is known. The capability for accommodating and retaining liquid is to be improved by the present invention. According to the invention, provision is made for the openings (11) in the upper layer (12) to widen at least in a lower section of their depth towards the lower layer (15), and/or for the openings (11) in the upper layer (12) to have an upper peripheral edge (18). Both the widening of the opening in the lower region and the upper edge reinforce the capillary effect of the opening (11) for liquid to be accommodated. <IMAGE>
