Abstract

The electrical connection terminal is of the type including a fixed jaw (4) in the form of a cradle with a U-shaped cross-section which serves as receptacle for the ends of cables (2, 2'), and a movable jaw (5) associated with a clamping system (6) of the screw-nut type, positioned in the opening of the said cradle (4), between its side branches (16 and 17), and in which the nut of the clamping system interacts with the ends of the side branches of the said cradle via a system of the dovetail type in order to bear on the said ends so as to reinforce the clamping and prevent the said branches moving apart. According to the invention, this terminal includes means which, on the one hand, make it possible to move the movable jaw (5) and its clamping system (6), preferably in the form of a slider (24), in order to clear the opening (15) of the cradle (4) and to make it possible to insert and fix the ends of cables (2, 2') in the bottom of the fixed jaw (4), perpendicularly to their longitudinal axis (23), and, on the other hand, to hold the said movable jaw (5) linked to the terminal so as to make it impossible to lose it. <IMAGE>
