SEGUN LA INVENCION TODOS LOS APARATOS DE BANDA ANCHA (BB-E1, BB-E24), SE PUEDEN COMUNICAR POR MEDIO DE UN CAMPO DE ACOPLO DE BANDA ANCHA (BB-V) CON LA UNIDAD DE CONEXION DEL ABONADO (TAE) DE LA RED DE BANDA ANCHA PUBLICA (VBN), ASI COMO LOS TELEFONOS USUALES DE LOS ABONADOS SE CONECTAN A UNA INSTALACION DE TELEFONOS SUPLETORIOS DE BANDA ESTRECHA (SB-PABX).
