Abstract

Electrical short-circuit element with built-in resistance. Comprises a dielectric base 1, a resistive element 2 deposited on the aforesaid base 1 and electrically joined to some conducting elements 3, 4 connected to the connection terminals 7, 8. The short-circuit element in question is characterized by the dielectric base 1 having a region 5 liable to rupture as a result of a thermal shock caused by a surge current in the resistive element 2, this resistive element 2 possessing a region 6 situated immediately next to the aforesaid region 5. The rupture of the base 1 also causes the rupture of the electrical continuity of the resistive element 2 and/or of the conducting elements 3, 4. The region 5 of the base 1, in the preferred implementation of the invention, has a smaller section than the rest of the base 1.
