SE PRESENTA UN METODO Y UNA PLANTA PARA LA PRODUCCION COMBINADA DE ELECTRICIDAD Y AGUA POTABLE EN UNA PLANTA AUTOSUFICIENTE DE TIPO EOLICA/DIESEL. EL METODO ES VENTAJOSA EN QUE PERMITE LA PRODUCCION DE ELECTRICIDAD Y AGUA POTABLE SIMULTANEAMENTE CON UN USO OPTIMO DE VARIAS UNIDADES DE LA PLANTA BAJO CUALQUIER CONDICION DE FUNCIONAMIENTO UTILIZANDO LA ENERGIA DEL VIENTO OPTIMAMENTE Y MINIMIZANDO EL CONSUMO DE COMBUSTIBLE. LA PLANTA SE CARACTERIZA EN QUE EL MOTOR DIESEL QUE FUNCIONA DE FORMA CONTINUA CONTROLA LA FRECUENCIA Y EL SUMINISTRO DE ENERGIA SIN QUE SE ACUMULE NINGUNA ENERGIA. EN UNA CONFORMACION PREFERIDA LA PLANTA COMPRENDE UN PRIMER CIRCUITO DE FLUIDO CERRADO Y UN SEGUNDO CIRCUITO DE FLUIDO ABIERTO. DISPUESTOS EN EL PRIMER CIRCUITO CERRADO ESTAN AL MENOS UNA UNIDAD ELECTRICA DE CALENTAMIENTO QUE RECIBE ENERGIA DE UNA TURBINA EOLICA, UN MOTOR DE COMBUSTION INTERNA, PREFERIBLEMENTE UN MOTOR DIESEL, Y UNA UNIDAD DE DESTILACION. LA UNIDAD DE DESTILACION CONSTITUYE UNA UNIDAD COMUN PARAEL PRIMER CIRCUITO CERRADO Y EL SEGUNDO CIRCUITO ABIERTO.
