Abstract
Staple fibres based on an atactic PVC/superchlorinated PVC mixture in a proportion of 17 to 20 % of superchlorinated PVC, characterised in that they have a count of & 2.3 dtex and a residual shrinkage of & 6 % after treatment for 30 min in oil at 115 DEG C according to ASTM standard D 210262 T. Such fibres are suitable for producing threads of fibres of lower count which are sufficiently strong to be employed on high-speed weaving machines.
