SE DESCRIBEN LOS PROCESOS PREFERENTES PARA LA RECUPERACION DE ACIDO CITRICO DE UN ELEMENTO EN QUE ESTE SE ENCUENTRE PRESENTE. EL ACIDO CITRICO SE RECUPERA DE MANERA EFECTIVA Y DE FORMA QUE SE PUEDA PURIFICAR FACILMENTE. EN UN PROCESO PREFERENTE, EL ELEMENTO QUE CONTIENE ACIDO CITRICO SE PONE EN CONTACTO CON UNA RESINA BASICA LIBRE, DE FASE SOLIDA QUE TIENE GRUPOS AMINA TERCIARIOS PARA ABSORBER EL ACIDO CITRICO. A CONTINUACION SE DESORBE EL ACIDO CITRICO MEDIANTE UN DESPLAZAMIENTO CON UN ACIDO MAS FUERTE Y SE RECOGE UNA FRACCION QUE CONTENGA ACIDO CITRICO Y QUE NO HAYA SIDO CONTAMINADO SUSTANCIALMENTE POR EL ACIDO MAS FUERTE.
