LA INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN METODO PARA LA PURIFICACION DE FENOL Y ESPECIFICAMENTE A UN METODO PARA LA PURIFICACION DE FENOL PRODUCIDO DENTRO DEL PROCESO DE PRODUCCION DE ACETONA Y FENOL DE UNION POR UN METODO CUMENO. EL OBJETIVO DE LA INVENCION ES DESARROLLAR UN CATALIZADOR QUE TIENE UNA GRAN ACTIVIDAD DE PURIFICACION DE FENOL A PARTIR DE MICROIMPUREZAS ORGANICAS CON LA REGENERACION DEL CATALIZADOR Y QUE TIENE UNA GRAN RESISTENCIA MECANICA Y UNA ESTABILIDAD ELEVAD CON LARGA DURACION DE CATALIZADOR. ESTE RESULTADO SE OBTIENE POR PURIFICACION DE FENOL USANDO UNA CATALIZADOR DE ZEOLITA HETEROGENEA. LA ACIDEZ DEL CATALIZADOR MEDIDO POR CARQUEO DE BUTANO (KA) ES MAYOR DE 10. EL FENOL DERIVADO DE LA DESTILACION DE IMPUREZAS QUE CONTIENEN ACERO PESADAS Y LIGERAS, POR EJEMPLO HIDROXIACETONA, OXIDO DE MESITILO, 6-METILESTIRENO, 2-METILBENZOFURANO Y OROS COMPUESTOS CARBONILO Y QUE NO CONTIENEN AGUA (CON CONTENIDO DE AGUA NO SUPERIOR A 1% EN PESO,PREFERENTEMENTE INFERIOR A 0,1% EN PESO) ENTRA EN CONTACTO CON EL CATALIZADOR DE ZEOLITA A UNA TEMPERATURA ENTRE APROXIMADAMENTE 120 A 250 (GRADOS) C (PREFERENTEMENTE 180 A 200 (GRADOS) C) Y VELOCIDADES ESPACIALES 0.1-3.5 HR-1 (PREFERENTEMENTE 0.8-1.2 HR-1). SE HA DESCUBIERTO QUE DICHOS RESULTADOS DE PURIFICACION DAN COMO RESULTADO LA CONVERSION DE TALES IMPUREZAS COMO OXIDO DE MESITILO, HIDROXIACETONA, 6.METILESTRENO Y OTROS COMPUESTOS CARBONILO NO INFERIOR A 90%.
