PROCEDIMIENTOS PARA LA OBTENCION DE IMAGENES Y ESPECTROS DEL PH EXTRACELULAR POR RESONANCIA MAGNETICA CON INDICADORES EXTRINSECOS CONTENIENDO 1H O 19F. EL ABORDAJE CONSISTE EN LA OBTENCION DE UNA IMAGEN O ESPECTRO MR DE CUALQUIER PROPIEDAD DE MR SENSIBLE AL PH DE MOLECULAS IMPERMEABLES A LA MEMBRANA. NORMALMENTE SE UTILIZA EL DESPLAZAMIENTO QUIMICO DE UN NUCLEO LOCALIZADO EN, O EN LA PROXIMIDAD DE, UN GRUPO IONIZABLE DE UNA MOLECULA NO PERMEANTE COMO "RESONANCIA INFORMADORA DEL PH" EN EL ESPACIO EXTRACELULAR. VARIOS METODOS DE MR (CSI-IMAGEN SELECTIVA DEL DESPLAZAMIENTO QUIMICO O SI-IMAGEN ESPECTROSCOPICA) PERMITEN LA DETERMINACION DE LA DISTRIBUCION EN EL ESPACIO DE LA "RESONANCIA INFORMADORA", Y POR TANTO LA DISTRIBUCION DEL PH EXTRACELULAR EN LA MUESTRA. ESTA INFORMACION RESULTA UTIL, ENTRE OTRAS, EN SITUACIONES CLINICAS COMO LAS DISTROFIAS MUSCULARES, LA ISQUEMIA, LA TRANSFORMACION TUMORAL Y LAS METASTASIS.
