EL APARATO DE EXPLORACION SE ASIENTA SOBRE EL AHUSAMIENTO SUPERIOR DEL TUBO EXTERIOR DE LA BOQUILLA (12) Y TIENE UN BASTIDOR FIJO (26) QUE TIENE UNA SECCION CORTADA QUE PERMITE LA INSTALACION DESDE EL LATERAL. EL APARATO TIENE UNOS MECANISMOS DE POSICIONAMIENTO VERTICAL Y CIRCUNFERENCIAL QUE SE ACCIONAN A DISTANCIA PARA EXPLORAR UN PAQUETE TRANSDUCTOR ULTRASONICO (46,48) SOBRE LAS SOLDADURAS CIRCUNFERENCIALES (16,18) Y LAS ZONAS AFECTADAS POR EL CALOR DE LAS MISMAS. EL BASTIDOR ROTATIVO (30) TIENE UN CARRO DEL TRANSDUCTOR (44) MONTADO SOBRE EL MISMO QUE SE PUEDE DESPLAZAR VERTICALMENTE RESPECTO AL BASTIDOR ROTATIVO (30). LOS MOTORES DE MOVIMIENTO VERTICAL Y ANGULAR (54,36) SE PUEDEN CONTROLAR AL MISMO TIEMPO PARA OBTENER LA TRAYECTORIA DESEADA PARA EL TRANSDUCTOR ULTRASONICO (46,48) ALREDEDOR DEL TUBO CORTO DE ESCAPE. LA HERRAMIENTA INCLUYE TAMBIEN UN SEGUIDOR DEL CONTORNO DEL RECINTO QUE SIGUE EL CONTORNO DE LAS SUPERFICIES INCLINADAS DE LA CABEZA INFERIOR DEL RECINTO A PRESION DEL REACTOR.
