Abstract

Process and apparatus for the application of adhesive to cigarette paper, and paper and cigarettes produced therewith, comprising an adhesive spraying apparatus and a process for applying a predetermined amount of anchoring adhesive in a predetermined spraying master to a continuous roll of cigarette paper (16) in forward movement, said apparatus including a pressure spraying system controlled by a programmable controller (26) for the precise and uniform application of sprayed adhesive vaporized on the fed forward cigarette paper (16), thereby eliminating the need to increase the density of the tobacco rod at discrete intervals to compensate for a significant volume at the free ends said apparatus is portable and can be retro-installed on existing cigarette production units.
