Abstract

The system is applicable to bank branches provided with cabins or lock-type (double) doors for controlling access and which in turn have a metal-detecting arch which locks the inner door of the cabin should it detect any metallic element which might be a weapon. The system consists in incorporating in the cabin or lock-type door 1 a magnetic card reader 5 suitably associated with the metal-detecting arch 4 in order to prevent the latter from operating when the person attempting to gain access to the branch identifies himself by means of his card as a branch customer, in which case the metal-detecting arch 4 is inoperative and the inner door 3 of the cabin opens, allowing entry, despite the fact that the person may be carrying metallic elements. This system limits monitoring of the passage through the metal-detecting arch only to such persons unconnected with the bank branch or premises as may pose a risk to it.
