Abstract

The hinge (1) consists of a hinge plate (3) with projecting bearing seat (2) attached to a surrounding frame (5) by screws (4) in countersunk holes (6). One of these fixing points is common to the seat and the hinge plate and is situated between seat flanges (7). A threaded (17) horizontal pivot pin (15) with recessed ends (20) to accept tools passes between bearing holes (21) in the seat and allows the opening hinge rod (16) to swing on an internal thread (18). A vertical slot (25) opens upwards to the top of the flanges on their inside faces from the bearing holes allowing the pivot to move clear of the fixing screws. <IMAGE>
